The Charlestown is a coffee table defined by its low proportion and grounded, architectural presence. Its wide top and substantial base create a stable horizontal form, anchoring a seating arrangement with clarity and restraint.
Constructed from select-grade soft maple, the painted base provides a controlled and consistent structure, allowing proportion and joinery to define the work. A solid cherry top introduces warmth and contrast, resolving the composition through a measured relationship of material. A single full-width drawer is integrated within the apron, maintaining a clean, uninterrupted elevation while providing discreet storage.
Each element is reduced to its essential function, resulting in a form that is both practical and composed. The scale remains deliberate, supporting everyday use without excess.
Built entirely by hand using traditional 18th-century joinery, The Charlestown is suited to living spaces where low, horizontal structure and quiet presence are required.
