The Charlestown is a low, restrained coffee table defined by proportion, material, and traditional construction. Its broad rectangular top and slender turned legs create a composed horizontal form, giving the piece presence without visual weight.
Constructed from select-grade soft maple, the painted base provides a controlled architectural framework beneath a solid cherry top. The contrast between Historic Charcoal and the warmth of cherry brings definition to the form while allowing the material and joinery to remain central to the design. That maple-and-cherry relationship is consistent with the material system you've established for the collection.
The turned legs introduce a measured reference to early American table forms without unnecessary ornament. A simple apron connects the structure cleanly, keeping the elevation open and allowing the table to sit comfortably within both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Built entirely by hand using traditional 18th-century mortise-and-tenon joinery, the Charlestown is designed as a quiet architectural anchor for the living room—functional, enduring, and deliberately restrained.
