The Concord is a true stepback cupboard, designed for heirloom presence and everyday function. Rooted in early American precedent, its two-part silhouette—an upper storage case set back from a deeper base—creates both visual hierarchy and practical utility, making it well suited for kitchens, dining rooms, and larger living spaces.
Crafted from reclaimed Midwestern barn pine, each case is built entirely by hand using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery secured with wooden pins. Drawers are assembled with hand-cut dovetails, while framed doors are carefully fit for long-term stability and daily use. No nails, screws, or mechanical fasteners are used in the construction.
Boards are planed smooth for a refined furniture-grade finish, while original nail holes, knots, and checking are preserved, stabilized, and sealed—allowing the material’s history to remain visible without compromising durability. The stepback form provides generous enclosed storage while maintaining disciplined, showroom-ready proportions.
Available in Heritage Amber or Historic Charcoal / Soft Black, The Concord can be customized in size, interior configuration, and hardware to suit both traditional and contemporary interiors. Built one piece at a time, it reflects American Heritage Furniture Co.’s commitment to early American craftsmanship, material honesty, and enduring design.
