The Federalist is a sideboard defined by balance, restraint, and a composed architectural presence. Its proportions are deliberate—establishing a horizontal form that anchors a room without excess.
Constructed from select-grade soft maple, the painted body provides a controlled, consistent structure, allowing proportion and joinery to define the work. A cherry top introduces warmth and contrast, resolving the composition through a measured relationship between material and form. Drawers and doors are fitted with precision, creating a quiet, uninterrupted facade.
The arrangement of drawers above and enclosed storage below offers clarity of function, maintaining order within a disciplined framework. The elevation remains light and resolved, supporting the overall sense of proportion.
Built entirely by hand using traditional 18th-century joinery, The Federalist is suited to dining rooms, living spaces, and entryways where a grounded, architectural presence is required.
