The Lexington is a tall dresser designed with authority and restraint, intended to anchor a room through proportion rather than ornament. Its vertical form is deliberate and well settled, offering generous storage while maintaining a disciplined, architectural presence rooted in early American precedent.
Handcrafted from reclaimed Midwestern barn pine, The Lexington is built entirely by hand using traditional 18th-century joinery. Mortise-and-tenon construction, secured with wooden pins, forms the case, while hand-fit drawers run on traditional wooden runners for smooth, enduring function. No nails, screws, or mechanical fasteners are used in the construction.
The upper cabinet provides concealed storage behind framed-and-paneled doors, while the lower case offers a full bank of drawers sized for everyday use. This balanced arrangement allows the piece to function as both a storage chest and a vertical architectural element within a bedroom or dressing space.
Boards are planed smooth for a refined furniture-grade surface, while original nail holes, knots, and checking are preserved, stabilized, and sealed, allowing the character of the reclaimed wood to remain visible. Shown here in Historic Charcoal / Soft Black for a tailored, design-ready presence.
Available in Heritage Amber or Historic Charcoal / Soft Black. Custom sizes, interior configurations, and hardware options are available upon request.
