The Salem is a slant-front desk defined by its balanced proportion and dual function as both storage and writing surface. Its form is composed—reading as a clean chest when closed and resolving into a structured workspace when open.
Constructed in solid cherry, the material introduces warmth and depth while maintaining a refined, consistent surface. The structure is precise, allowing proportion and joinery to define the work. The fall front is fitted with care, creating a clean, uninterrupted facade when closed.
The interior is organized with a series of compartments and drawers, providing practical storage for writing and daily use. Below, the case offers additional enclosed capacity, maintaining a clear relationship between function and form.
Built entirely by hand using traditional 18th-century joinery, The Salem is suited to bedrooms, studies, and living spaces where a writing surface is required without sacrificing architectural presence.
