The Saybrook is a refined corner hutch designed to bring order and presence to any contemporary decor while remaining quietly restrained. Its angled plan softens the vertical mass of the cabinet, allowing it to settle naturally into a corner without overwhelming the room.

Handcrafted entirely by hand from reclaimed Midwestern barn pine, The Saybrook is built using traditional 18th-century mortise-and-tenon joinery, secured with wooden pins. Framed-and-paneled doors, hand-fit shelves, and period-correct proportions emphasize material honesty and structural clarity over applied ornament. No nails, screws, or mechanical fasteners are used in the construction.

The upper case features divided-light glass doors that provide visual lightness and functional display for ceramics, books, or seasonal objects, while the lower cabinet offers enclosed storage to ground the piece and maintain balance. This interplay between openness and concealment gives The Saybrook its quiet architectural strength.

Boards are planed smooth for a refined furniture-grade surface, while original nail holes, knots, and checking are preserved, stabilized, and sealed—allowing the character of the reclaimed wood to remain visible.

Designed to live comfortably in kitchens, dining rooms, or collected interiors, The Saybrook offers the presence of an heirloom without visual excess. Available in Heritage Amber or Historic Charcoal / Soft Black. Custom sizes, interior configurations, and hardware options are available upon request.
