The Wethersfield is a handcrafted early American corner hutch inspired by late-18th-century New England forms. Its tall, disciplined proportions and restrained detailing reflect the construction logic of original period cabinetry, allowing the piece to settle naturally into a room without excess ornament.

Built entirely by hand from reclaimed antique pine, The Wethersfield is constructed using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, secured with wooden pins. Framed-and-paneled doors, hand-cut dovetails, and full-depth interior shelving are executed using period-correct methods. No nails, screws, or modern mechanical fasteners are used in the construction.

The upper cabinet features divided-light glass doors that provide visual lightness and display, while the lower case offers enclosed storage grounded by solid paneled doors and a hand-fitted drawer above. This balance of openness and weight gives the piece both utility and architectural presence.

Surfaces are planed smooth and finished by hand to preserve the character, patina, and tool marks of the original wood. Knots, grain variation, and age marks are stabilized and sealed rather than concealed, allowing the material’s history to remain visible.

Designed for both storage and display, The Wethersfield is built as a lasting heirloom—intended to be used, lived with, and passed down. Available in Heritage Amber or Historic Charcoal / Soft Black. Custom sizing, finishes, and interior configurations are available upon request.
