Our Process: Built by Hand, Rooted in Heritage
At American Heritage Furniture Company, every piece of furniture begins with a conversation — and becomes a legacy.
We believe that furniture should do more than fill a space. It should tell a story. That’s why every piece we create is made by hand, using carefully selected reclaimed lumber, traditional early American joinery, and craftsmanship passed down through generations.
It Starts with You
Once we’ve worked with a client to define the design and dimensions, we provide a detailed rendering to ensure the vision is perfect. When approved, the order is placed, and our workshop begins.

Heritage in Every Board
No two boards are the same. Every piece of vintage wood is hand-selected, milled, and prepared specifically for that customer’s piece. Our materials often come from 19th-century barns, mills and warehouses — each with a story of their own.

Joinery That Lasts Generations
We do not use screws. We do not use nails. Every joint is crafted by hand using time-honored early American joinery methods — mortise and tenon, pegs, dovetails — techniques chosen for their strength and soul. These joints are hand cut and chiseled, not machined, with precision and care.

The Final Touch
Our finishes are hand-applied to enhance the wood’s natural character — highlighting grain, age, and story. The result is not just a functional object, but a one-of-a-kind heirloom.

Once complete, we contact the customer and arrange for delivery — bringing their piece of history home.
